Last week our pastor’s message was about why you need to belong to a church. I thought that this was amusing because I often get asked that question or I should say told that. You do don’t need a church! I can believe in Jesus without going to church. Why yes, yes you can believe in Jesus without having a church, for example satan believes in Jesus. Jesus tells us that we need a church and to be a church body and to do His work through that body, and He loved His so much that He died for it. Pastor went on to explain all the benefits of belonging to a church, the education and explanation of the Word, the family of fellow believers. The fact of when one of the body of Christ suffers we all hurt and all want to help
We joined our church about four years ago and have found a family that goes beyond what we had. I have found brothers and sisters in Christ that I love and feel like I have known all my life. They have become my family the ones who are there for my when I need something or someone and vise versa. This past week they demonstrated just that, my father had a major heart attack last week and the out pour of love and support was amazing. I had so much of my family from church ask what they could do to help and to see if we could use anything at all it left me speech
less. I had one Brother offer to cancel a vacation to stay and give me support, and even one sister in Christ who broke her foot and still offered to watch our children so we didn’t worry about them sitting in the hospital. The church and all my family there are true blessings from God and I just want to thank them and let everyone know that’s why I need a Church not to hear Gods word but rather to be part of the Family of Christ, to help me and to have brothers and sisters that not only mentor me in my walk with God but are also dear blessings from God that I don’t just call friends but instead call my family.
