Will you answer the call…..

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, (Ephesians 1:5 KJV)
We are all created by God for one purpose to glorify Him. We can accomplish this by following His word and following the path he has created for us. We are all blessed with different gifts, to accomplish different things. Some have the gift of evangelical preaching, some leadership others the gift of business or the gift of caring for others. These gifts or callings are what make us whole when strung together as the body of Christ.

I know some who are called to the mission fields in the darkest parts of the world to go forth and shine the light of Jesus. I used to think that they where so much better then me in their walk, that they had a greater calling and a greater fire for the Lord.  I would find myself wishing and desiring that I too would hunger for Jesus like that but, could I do that give up everything I have and go to a third world country for Jesus? I want to say yes but know it would be a very difficult choice to do.

So what makes the ones that do that any better then me in their walk with the Lord? I think, nothing, they have their calling, to do that the same as the one who goes into the jails and preaches and disciples the inmates to Jesus, they to have their calling.

My wife and I believe that we are following our hearts and God through adoption, we can’t give our lives and move to another country to minister, and at this time have no love for prison ministry. The call to adopt is what we have and plenty of love to pour out to our children. When we mention that we want to adopt again we are quickly hit with Why?, I don’t understand you have three children already. Hey I know and I love them all but there is still a missing child from our family. We feel that our home is not yet complete.   Now I am not saying that we are doing this now,  but soon. It is our calling and the path we have chosen for our lives, we trust in our Lord and follow when he calls.

That is our part in the body of Christ to care for orphans just as He has commanded. Though some might not understand and that’s ok, But I know that we are following God and thats all I need to know.
God bless to all that follow your calling and to those who are nervous to do so, just take a leap of faith and trust in God.
Jon
