In a world where we are under contracts for everything, we decided to start teaching our children about responsibility with new contracts. They all received iPods for Christmas and where thrilled and always on them playing, watching downloaded shows,face timing there friends,and messaging everyone. Then I read about a mom who made a contract for her son to sign for his new iPhone and I thought what a great idea. I talked it over with Jamie and we reviewed what we wanted to put on it and I reviewed them with the children made sure hey understood everything and then required them to sign it. Now with contract in hand they are bound by contract to follow it or loose the iPod. Here is the contract.
1. Mom and Dad own the iPods not you.
A. You are the stewards of them, treat them well and you will get to keep them
B. You don’t you will loose them
2. No making fun of anyone on them
A. You can message your friends to keep in touch
1. They are not for insulting or embarrassing someone on them
2. If you can’t say something to someone in person or to there parent them dont message it
To another friend
3. No watching TV or Movies on them whenever you want.
A. You must ask permission from mom or dad to watch tv on them
B. if you want to watch tv at night watch the family show with the family together not in your
Room
4. No sending embarrassing photos or inappropriate photos or videos to anyone…..
5. At 7 Pm est they will be put away for the evening
A. Only time you can use them after is for face timing a friend that has been per approved
6. Poor effort and work shown in school and in your chores will result in dramatic loss of time allotted for iPod use
7. Any disrespect of Mom or Dad will result in a one day suspension for the first offense
A. Every added offense will result in. Two more days added
