As the years go by we all have friends that come and go in our lives. I believe the difference is there are those that we can’t wait to see go, and then those that start as friends, and quickly turn to family. It’s those friends that are truly missed when they leave.
This weekend I was blessed to have a going away party for some dear friends that have become extended family. I met them just after we joined our church, we meet through a mutual friend and have grown closer over the last few years. We have been fellow teammates for two great seasons of softball. We got to have great fellowship a few days a week and I have been blessed to have had the chance to become friends with him and his family. Today was the last time we got to say good bye and as I left it hit me, and I started getting all choked up, man am I going to miss them.
So goodbye Jon and Michele thank you for the season we had together and good luck on your new season.
Dear Lord,
I lift up them to you and pray for continued blessings to them and safe travels as they journey on there new season. I know they will be provided for because of Your promises Lord. I pray for comfort as they face new challenges and set out on there new adventure. I pray for Jon as he leads his family, I pray for them to find a new place of worship, one with a heart for You Lord so that they can confine to be feed your word. Lord let them feel your presence during this transition in their lives. I just praise You Lord for letting us get to know this family, although for only what feels like a brief time. They have become life long friends.
In Your Sons precious name I pray
Amen
Goodbye my friends and I will text you later.
God bless and God speed
Jon
