Wow, just so many things come to mind when I think of Father’s Day. The above picture shows just a few of the words that describe my father. Now before any of you who know my dad groan and moan,I will say this it is true at some point in my life he was all those things. I will also say he make a better papa then he he did a father. My dad loved us and taught me many things for me to base my foundation of fatherhood on, he also missed the mark on a lot of stuff and he has told me this. He was a good provider for his family always working 60-80+ hours a week to put food on the table and to provide us with cloths, toys and later in life free parts for our cars. Now for those of you who don’t know my dad, (.05 cent version ) he moved out on his own at the age when young boys should still be boys and grew up without a lot…….walked up hill to school in old holy shoes in the snow both ways…….bla bla bla met my mom got married started a family worked all his life now he is well let’s just call him a changed man. He did not have an easy life and i do not let that be the excuse for the issues we have had , but i do take it into consideration his lake of a father too teach him. As stated before my father was my hero,my leader, my friend and my teacher. When I was young I was petrified, I did not think I could make it without you by my side sorry went off on a tangent where was I ??? Oh yes when I was young I looked up to my dad he was my hero, I though he could do anything,I grew he was my teacher, teaching my the dying tradition of a good work ethic. He at one point lead our family into business while it did close It lasted over twenty years. Now as he is older and finally finding out that he can’t do it all he is becoming my friend, someone I can call and talk with to help him now.
Dad I love you for all you are both good and bad I do not agree with the way you choose to do things as a dad but either way you still where teaching me how to be a dad.
I also would like to take a moment to say thank you to my father in law, Richard for all he has done in raising my amazing wife to all he still does to help support our household. You have taught me so much and we love having you in our lives .
Happy Fathers Day
God Bless
Jon
