Happy thanksgiving

Read this today from Jesus calling

A THANKFUL ATTITUDE opens windows of heaven. Spiritual blessings fall freely onto you through those openings into eternity. Moreover, as you look up with a grateful heart, you get glimpses of Glory through those windows. You cannot yet live in heaven, but you can experience foretastes of your ultimate home. Such samples of heavenly fare revive your hope. Thankfulness opens you up to these experiences, which then provide further reasons to be grateful. Thus your path becomes an upward spiral: ever increasing in gladness.

Thankfulness is not some sort of magic formula; it is the language of Love, which enables you to communicate intimately with Me. A thankful mind-set does not entail a denial of reality with its plethora of problems. Instead, it rejoices in Me, your Savior, in the midst of trials and tribulations. I am your refugeand strength, an ever-present and well-proved help in trouble.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
—Ephesians 1:3

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
—Habakkuk 3:17–18

God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.
—Psalm 46:1 amp

It is so easy to get burdened down in this world, it seems all to often we are reminded of our problems, what we need or what will make us happy and faults, rather than what we have or do right. We should all know this knowing we live in a fallen world, but its so easy to fall victim to the devil and his world. If we don’t remind our selves that we are loved unconditionally by God, our lives can seem like an unending darkness. Now I am not saying that because we believe in Jesus and know that he died for our sins we have an easy life not at all. What I am saying is that even in our darkest hour, Jesus is shining His light into our darkness to light our way. God is the same yesterday today and for all eternity…..

We need to know that God loves us and is always here for us. We are never alone. As we celebrate Thanksgiving we need to remember this, not just today rather everyday we need to focus on our blessings even if our day is going bad is we focus on our blessings. So today and everyday I will try and remember to count my blessings.

Dear Lord,

Thank you, thank you for all my blessings. While some days we live week to week and struggle through live trying to just get bye. I have to count the blessings of my health, my wife, my children my family. The jobs that provide for this house. The sole fact that as my beloved checks on our little gobbler in the oven, we have a home with heat in this fridge 18 degree day…

thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die for me. While I was a sinner, you still died for my sins, setting the example of how to love……

May you all enjoy your thanks giving and remember today and everyday to count your blessings

God bless and Happy Thanksgiving

Jon
