The magic mirror

Sometimes I listen to my children and I just wish they saw themselves as I did. Then again I pray for the sight of others and that I could see myself through the eyes of others.

It got me thinking about this and about what kind of world are we raising our children in? The kind of works that 24/7 tells us what is beautiful looks like, what healthy looks like what to eat, what to listen too and who to love. What marriage is and what kind of person you should feel like. It’s no wonder we are confused on what we should look like and we look in the mirror and see all our faults.

I am trying to think about what age do we loose that courageous attitude we had as kids. As a child I always though I was a superhero ( big surprise) and that I could do anything and be anyone. I never thought of myself as ugly or too skinny or too fat, just a young boy with a future full of dreams that I knew I could do and be. And then it seems it was gone….

it seems that we are beatdown by the world to tell us we well suck we are not good enough, not strong enough, not pretty enough not good lolkng enough. Never have enough money just never….. well ya know what we are never good enough we are all sinners yet God sent His one and only Son Jesus to die for us….

In a fallen world we have nothing, but with Hod we have saving grace. We can know true joy in our lives not just joy in the world that will fade WE have the joy that only comes with saving faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yet still  knowing the truth of God we still struggle in this world, why? Because we are in a fallen world that continues to beat us down so we will not keep looking up🙏🏼. Stay strong in your faith we are not promised an easy life while following Jesus only an eternal one.

That brings me to that magic mirror in my title.

We still look in the mirror and fall victim to the devil…. we see our faults and wether it’s our weight our hair our cloths we see every minute fault like it’s being reflected through a magnifying glass. Then someone has the audacity to tell that person how beautiful they are? What are they thinking can’t they see that issue?  I have the same problem i look in the mirror and see an overweight out of shape guy who have many failures under his belt☹️. But fail to see the good things ….

If we just had that magic mirror that reflected the good dad or that great mom or great talented child We are I believe our world would be so blessed and destined for greatness.

So next time you are dejected over one of our many flaws remember we where created by a God who does not make mistakes, thank Him for this and look for one of your many positive attributes.

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  1. I see a dad who works hard to provide for his family, who is the hero of his children’s eyes and the eternal love of his wife, he is handsome strong and brave and no one can say otherwise!!
